Ex Kelso Captain Clive Millar Has Been In Touch and is planning on doing the MdS Marathon to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK – In memory of Clive’s Sister who passed away from Cancer in the summer of 2016. The race itself is held in Morocco and one of the toughest foot races in the world, from the 6th to 16th April 2018 - 7 weeks to go! It is 156 miles in the Sahara dessert. Basically 6 marathons in 6 days with day 4 being a double marathon just to make things even tougher. Average temp is 40c. You have to carry all your own supplies for the week - approx.12kg backpack. Water is supplied each day because we need a fair pickle of that stuff. You can sponsor via Virgin Money Giving. Just put either Holly's or Clive’s name in the donation page. They have been training for over a year and a half now. Fitness wise should be ok just the heat management is going to be the bugger. Not much help when it's -2c and snowing here. https://www.berwickshirenews.co.uk/news/feeling-the-burn-for-charity-1-4412652
